HokeFit Eat Your Colors
Healthy Eating Worksite Wellness Challenge
October 1 – December 31
Eating fruit and vegetables provides health benefits. People who eat more vegetables and fruit as part of an overall healthy diet are likely to have reduced risk of some chronic diseases. Fruits and vegetables provide nutrients vital for health, such as potassium, dietary fiber, vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, these types of foods are low in fat, sodium and calories.
It is recommended to eat the colors of the rainbow every day. Sometimes it is a challenge to get the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables in a day. And the different colors of fruits and vegetables provide various sources of nutrients.
So, the First-In-Health 2020 Task Force is going to help employees discover how to eat more fruits and vegetables by implementing the Eat Your Colors Healthy Eating Worksite Wellness Challenge.
This website will provide resources for how to add more fruits and vegetables to your daily routine. And how to store, prepare and cook fresh foods.
Eat Your Colors has two components:
(1) Corporate Challenge – Businesses will register on the website as a local employer. Employees will register and link themselves to their employer. The large and small business with the greatest percentage of participation in the challenge will be recognized and receive a trophy.
(2) Individual Challenge – Individuals will register on the website and link themselves to an employer. Individuals will track which color groups they ate per day on the website. Individuals can earn one point per color group per day for a total of five points per day for eating the rainbow. To qualify for prize drawings at the final event, individuals must earn 300 points or more.
